Looks Like Fall

I must digress from vacation posts, one because the next set of pictures have not been uploaded yet and they are on Peter's computer and it is Peter's weekend to be at class in Lubbock (and of course he took his laptop) and two because we (the boys and I) have had fun "decorating" the front yard and I had to share!

Maybe it is the kids that make you want to decorate more during the holidays or maybe decorating makes your house feel more like home...either way, we love to decorate...and Daddy tolerates it although I think he likes it just as much...

I didn't do a great job keeping up with the flower beds out front this summer...we spent most of our time in back so I tended to those flowers/veggies instead. So, we had to clear the beds of weeds first, then planted a few mums, and today decided to add a few decorations and pumpkins.

Henry has been riding his trike and his scooter everyday (more later on another post), so I figured since we would be out front playing more this fall we should have pretty things to look at too...

Helping Momma decide where the pumpkins should go...

Posing for a quick pic between rides...

 Proud of his work...

Thanks to a friend, we even have cornstalks (or cornshalks, whatever you want to call them) for our light pole...

Not too overboard, just enough to be festive.

Excited about the pumpkins...

Have to watch this one...he likes to "pick" the flowers...

Time to water...our faucet is now spraying everywhere when you turn it on...the boys LOVE it!!

Pretty flowers...

I tried and tried for a decent pic...one would look, then one would smile...this is the best of the best...

Now you smile...

The boys can't wait to carve pumpkins...and we tried on their costumes today...big mistake Momma, now they want to wear them all the time...at least they like them!

Superheros

The boys received a package of goodies from Gma and Papa the other day and inside were two Superhero capes...both were very excited...Henry has been wearing his non-stop while requesting we refer to him as Superman or Super Henry...

He happened to be wearing his batman shirt (a new favorite)

Wanted to run around outside with his cape...and fly...

Super Charlie

Running at the speed of light...

Able to leap tall buildings...

Now while wearing their capes, they beg Daddy to "fly" them...Charlie doesn't wear his cape as long (usually) as Henry but when told he can only fly with it on...he runs to get it...

Flying...

No fear...

Running Flying down the hall...

Now both boys beg Daddy for "more", or "one more time", or "my turn"... (both say these things...). I love my superheros.

Fresh Air

After a great weekend away, it was nice to just relax and play in our own backyard!

Got Gma to get on the trampoline but Henry wasn't convincing enough to get Gpa...

Mr. Big Stuff...stealing Momma's seat!

Having fun as usual on the teeter totter...

Neither one can get enough...

Gpa was willing to do most of the work...

Not wanting to go it?!

As usual, we had fun in the backyard...now that we basically have our own playground out there (as Daddy says)...

4th of July Festivities

Our 4th of July weekend was fun of good times. We started the weekend at the "club" party equipped with hamburgers, hot dogs, bouncy castles, crafts, and face painting.

Very Patriotic

Henry's dragon...

Of course the boys spent a lot of time in the bouncy castles.

Having fun...

Started out hanging on for dear life but ended screaming and jumping just like big brother.

On Saturday, we prepped for our 4th cookout. Making cheesecake and potato salad ahead of time. Cleaning and relaxing. Then Henry got to decorate his rice krispie treats...very festive!

Charlie woke up just in time to have a taste...Henry wasn't too sure about sharing before Momma got a picture (he is screaming NO if you couldn't tell).

Excellent...all mine!

Finally, Henry shared...

YUM YUM! Those are pretty tasty!

On Sunday, Daddy got up with the sun (maybe before) to start the grill and put the "meat" on...

We had delicious BBQ, smoked for almost 12 hrs and with a homemade BBQ sauce! Great Job Daddy!!!

As it got closer to dinner, the boys changed into their red, white, and blue outfits and I tried to get a few pictures but they were a little excited so...

After dinner, with great friends, Lisa and Chase, we decided to run around outside.

Charlie got his finger dirty, showed Daddy who told him to tell me about it...so he did...what an expression.

Charlie and his buddy Chase...

Trying to hold Chaser's hand.

Buddies!! (Wish I would have taken this from a different angle)

After dessert, people were already shooting off fireworks (which is legal in NM)...so Daddy started our show.

Henry thought some were pretty loud!

We had a few that we shot up in the air but they were too fast for Momma to catch on camera. We also enjoy the fireworks "in space" (as Henry said) from others in the neighborhood.

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July...we did!!
