Old Town

After Sandia's Peak, we headed to Old Town Albuquerque. We didn't spend a ton of time there since the temperature seemed to be rising by the minute and the boys were fading fast! I must admit that I liked Santa Fe better but maybe only because there was more to see outside as we walked around which entertained the boys a little better...both have cool shops but with a double stroller and grabby hands that isn't always the most fun!

Henry as Sheriff (you can tell he isn't himself)

Charlie as Sheriff

I tried to get a few shots of the landscape and feel for Old Town...

Outside the Museum...(it's a head laying on its back with a huge pointy chin...Peter had to tell me...I thought it was a rhino...)

We went into the museum for a potty break and Henry was thrilled with the bubblers (that's right I said bubbler!)

Daddy and his boys...his tired, tired boys!

Can't get enough cacti!

Old Town buildings...(with a smudge on my lens or maybe a ghost...)

San Felipe de Neri Church

Claims to be the World's Largest Pot...

Charlie's souvenir...because of course he truly is a NM Native.

Weekend Away

I have been away from the blog for a few days and now I am once again behind...it was nice not to get online while "on vacation" (I must admit) although I would have loved to share our trip as it happened...now I need to sort through 300+ pics before sharing them...so please bear with me! I have decided to blog about our trip and then back track with a few posts of activities that happened just before we left...

Daddy was lucky enough to get Friday and half of Thursday off (vacation time is hard to come by with the workload and lack of people right now @ the Clinic). The boys and I picked Daddy up at work just before noon and we were on the road shortly after...on our way to Albuquerque...we have been there once before for the balloon festival however we didn't get a chance to see any other sites. So, we were pretty excited to have two full days to enjoy the Albuquerque's Zoo and Aquarium and ride the tram up The Sandia Mountains.

We met G&G Baldwin there and stayed at the Embassy downtown...very cool! Although the trip from Clovis to Albuquerque only takes 3.5-4 hrs, the boys were ready to be out of the car by the time we arrived. When we pointed out the hotel to Henry all he could say was "OH WOW!" It definitely met his standards and we hadn't even stepped inside yet!

We rode the elevator up to the fifth floor and were pleasantly surprised to find what our room had to offer...
Henry and Charlie loved to watch each and every time we rode the elevator (and of course press the buttons).

Our view of the city...

More from our giant picture window...

Of course Henry had to try out the beds...

Loving the view...pointing out all of the cars.

Enjoying a little time running around the room...

Once we were settled in our rooms, we decided on P.F. CHANG's for dinner. Both boys enjoyed their dinners and desserts and of course CHOPSTICKS!

Outside P.F. Chang's

What better way to end the day than to toss a few coins into the fountain...
