All in all it was a good trip, no major issues, kids were as good as can be expected, Daddy's surgery went well, and Momma got to shop at Target...but with all of that said we were all very glad to get home this afternoon...
We started on Wednesday afternoon (a little later than we wanted but not a huge deal) and stopped for a quick snack just past Santa Rosa...for ice cream of course!
And Chocolate Shakes...
Ready to get back on the road...
By the time we arrived at the hotel, unpacked and settled in, it was after dinnertime and all were ready for bed...we ate a quick meal and settled in for the night.
Snuggling with Daddy....
On Thursday, Daddy had to be at the hospital at 10am but wouldn't actually go into surgery until after 12:30pm. There was a little issue with the boys staying since no one under the age of 14 is allowed in hospitals anymore unless they are patients (a NM rule?, anyway)...the lobby is included in this rule however no one kicked us out...we just couldn't go back to see Daddy in recovery.
The boys and I sat for a little while and then headed out to Target and to grab a bite for lunch. We shopped until Charlie started to get too tired (which means crabby) and let him sleep as we drove back to the hospital. We brought the portable DVD player in with us this time and watched CARS (and played with every toy imaginable) until they wheeled Daddy out.
Both boys were very well behaved...
Eating a special treat!
Watching a movie...
After we filled Daddy's prescription and got him settled in the hotel room...I decided there was no way the boys were going to let Daddy rest...I was hoping they would crash along with Daddy but that just wasn't happening. We decided to get some dinner...but first since it was just around 5pm we drove to the outlet mall in Santa Fe to check it out and get a little exercise (for Momma at least). After parking, I realized both boys were asleep (figures)...I got the stroller out and Charlie stayed asleep while Henry woke a little. We walked around for a while and then decided it was time to get some pizza (per Henry's request).
A good friend suggested Dion's for a quick and good pizza. Henry insisted that we eat in the restaurant...they had a place to watch them make the pizza...
We ate dinner and took the leftovers for Daddy.
Daddy was happy to see us...
Daddy's bandages...(he didn't want to smile so I only took a picture of his leg)
Monkey Boys
Daddy has been told to stay put on the couch for the weekend...and we head back to Santa Fe on Tuesday for a Wednesday appointment.
