Largest Zoo in NM

And guess who has the second largest...that's right Clovis, NM...

We arrived at the zoo on Saturday shortly after it opened and there was already quite a line to get in. We purchased combo tickets which let us see the zoo, the aquarium, the botanical gardens, and ride the train (both the train from the zoo to the aquarium and the zoo train...we never made it on the zoo train though). After a rocky start (Henry still wasn't feeling quite well and Charlie almost ready for a nap), we were beginning to think we had taken on too much for such a hot day...but we keep on moving through the zoo and the day turned out to be a great one!

We caught the flamingos fighting...

The tortoise...

Watching the birds...happy to be out of the stroller...

Monkey eating...

Smirking because Daddy will carry me and not make me get in the stroller...

Daddy and Charlie!

Polar Bear's foot

Lounging...

Henry and Momma

The Lion

The Jaguar

Checking out the animals with Grandma and Grandpa

The Cougar

The Giraffe

Henry started to enjoy the zoo a little more once he got a blue slushy...He wanted everyone to try it and then show him their tongue...

Elephants

When we came back from the aquarium, the baby elephant was out...I didn't get a great pic but you can see it hiding at the back of the adult.

Henry absolutely loved the sea lions...

And they kept swimming right passed the window we were at...

Henry made sure Daddy saw too...

Having a snack...

Hippos

This always happens...Charlie missed the last half of the zoo! And Henry feel asleep just before we were on our way to the train station.

Cheetah.

Apes.

Rhinos

Zebras...with baby.

Henry slept all the way to the aquarium (after talking nonstop about riding the train, he missed it) but it was for the better because he was definitely in a better mood after his nap! At the end of the day we made it into the zoo's gift shop where Henry picked out this giraffe toy and a hippo for Charlie (who had once again fallen asleep)...both were very happy with their choices!
